Though the "name is misleading" (this place is "on Folly Beach on James Island – an easy 20-minute ride from Charleston") this hotel's true location is a bonus, with "unexpectedly spectacular" ocean views from "all rooms", an "inviting" beachfront and pier, and a "peaceful" vibe; set in a "funky little" town with the entertainment options of the big city nearby, it's "old, but clean" and the "only hotel on the beach."

Service and room were not up to expectations.
Broken desk, phone didn't work, internet didn't' work, water blew into the room under door, front desk staff (more than one) were of no help (didn't even acknowledge the issues) and no bill adjustment was offered. ...read more

Loud younger guests disturbed us and other guests into wee hours of the morning.
The hotel was recently completely renovated and the staff was very friendly, ready to help.

The view every room has a ocean from view.
Rooms were a little small, but we spent most of our time by the water.
Great location and view of Atlantic Ocean. Every room has an ocean front view. Right in heart of Folly Beach, SC. Close to variety of restaurants and bars.
